Introduction
Welcome to an exciting time in your DMIN program as you begin working on a valuable resource not just for yourself and your ministry, but hopefully for many other pastors and churches around the world.
Now that you are beginning your project, you will be registered into the course DMIN 903 until you have signaled to your supervisor that you have completed your project. You may have a few questions about what you will see in Populi, and this guide should help give you an understanding of what is going on behind the scenes.
DMIN 903 Enrollment
At the beginning of your project you will be enrolled into DMIN 903 for the upcoming and future terms. In subsequent academic years, you will be enrolled into the course for the entire year (i.e., you will see an enrollment for DMIN 903 in Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer for that academic year).
Tuition Invoiced
While it may look like you owe for the entire years worth of enrollment, you only need to pay the amount that you have been invoiced for each term. You can always pay ahead if you wish, but we will only invoice for the credits you have enrolled into for the current term (usually this would be only $450 for the term, but if you happened to enroll in another course you may be invoiced for more that term).
It is important that you pay any invoiced amount before the next term as failing to do so may result in your account being locked. If desired, you can set up a payment plan for your account.
Leave of Abscence (LOA)
If you need to take a break from actively working on your project, you will need to make sure you fill out a LOA form before the beginning of the next term. You will no longer be considered active and you will be dropped from DMIN 903. A few things to be aware of:
- You cannot retroactively fill out a LOA for the current term you are in, nor for past terms.
- Students on LOA may not have access to supervisors, libraries, and other services while on LOA.
- LOAs that extend beyond 1 year may result in your account being inactive. For more details, consult the Academic Catalogue.
Transcript
Due to the way DMIN 903 has been set up in Populi, you won't see the course listed on your transcript normally. You can find the courses by looking under the program "None" on your student info page (see image below).
This means the course:
- Will not count towards the total credits that you take overall. While DMIN 903 is listed a being worth 1 credit, you will still only graduate with 30 credits on your transcript (unless you take more courses in the span of your DMIN).
- Will not affect your GPA. All students will "Pass" the course at the end of the term, but this will not change your current standing.
Project Conclusion
Once you feel you are done with your project, you will need to contact your supervisor to confirm your project is completed. Once this is confirmed, you will be un-enrolled from future iterations of DMIN 903, along with the charges on your account. If you see an enrollment in DMIN 903 that you don't believe is correct, please let us know so we can fix this.
